RAL stands for quality in many areas of daily life. This also applies to the processing of your personal data. To ensure security and privacy of your data it is our policy to collect as few personal data as possible and to process the required data as securely as possible.

2.1 Personal Data
Personal data are individual pieces of information about the personal or actual circumstances of a certain or identifiable natural person. (Section 3, para. 1, German Data Protection Act). In other words: these are pieces of information that would permit your identification or can be assigned to you. This includes, for example, your name, address, date of birth, and phone number.
2.2 Anonymous Data
In contrast to this, anonymous data are pieces of information that are disassociated from natural persons or may not be linked to any individual person, resepctively.

A „cookie“ is a piece of information sent from our web server to your web browser. Unless you have actively disabled the acceptance of cookies in your browser they are stored on the hard disk of your computer. They are used in many electronic transactions over the Internet to track the progress of transactions. We use this technology to personally accompany you on your virtual tour of our shop and to keep track of your virtual shopping basket. 3. Data Processing
3.1 Server Statistics
When you visit our website our web server automatically collects and analyses certain data. These data include:
- the pages visited,
- the type of browser used,
- the operating system of the visitor’s computer,
- the address of the website from which you linked to our website (e.g. search engines, including the search terms used to find our site)
- Date, time and duration of visits.
RAL does not store the IP address of the computer from which you visit our website.
This information cannot be used to track certain or identifiable persons. Consequently, this information does not constitute personal data. Hence, it cannot be used to create individual user profiles.
We use this information for statistical analysis to help us make our site more useful and more interesting to our visitors.
3.2 Use of eTracker Technology
This website uses eTracker GmbH technology (www.etracker.de) to collect and store data for marketing and optimization purposes. These data are used to create customer use profiles under an alias name. This may be done by the use of cookies. Cookies allow us to identify your Internet browser. Without being granted a separate permission by the party concerned the information collected by the use of eTracker technologies will neither be used to personally identify the visitor to our website nor to combine the personal data of the person using the alias name. You have the right to object, at any time, to the collection and processing of your personal data, effective for the future.

3.3 Orders
You may visit all sections of our website and inform yourself without disclosing personal data to us. If you ask us to provide you with documents or products we will need to collect and process some personal data from you to be able to process your request. This information includes, for example, your full name, postal address and/or e-mail address. Some additional information will be needed to allow us to process your order, e.g. the shipment address, your preferred payment mode and, if the occasion arises, your banking or credit card information.
3.4 Disclosure of Data to Third Parties
By voluntarily disclosing your data to us you agree to our disclosing your data to the extent necessary to the third parties involved to be able to process your requested transactions. As a matter of principle, we process your orders from our Sankt Augustin office. In addition, your financial service provider as well as our principal banker will also be called in for the financial settlement of the transaction.
We will, under no circumstances, sell, rent or in any other way pass on your data to other companies without your express prior consent, unless this is necessary to execute your orders placed with us or, exceptionally, required by law.
I you have subscribed to the RAL Farben Newsletter, contact data will also be saved at our service provider K12 Agentur für Kommunikation und Innovation GmbH, Charlottenstrasse 43, 40210 Düsseldorf, and used exclusively for sending out the RAL Farben Newsletter.

Upon your written request, RAL will provide you with information about the personal data we hold about you.
5. Revocation
You have, of course, the right to revoke your consent to our collecting and processing your data, in writing, at any time.
6. Secure Data Transmission
Any unsecured transmission of data via the Internet may be viewed or altered by unauthorised third parties. Security and confidentiality of your personal information are of paramount importance to us. That is why all transactions involving your customer and credit card details, are encrypted. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, an encryption technology supported by all leading providers which has become a de factor standard and helps protect the transmission of information between a web browser and a web server.

Please bear in mind that e-mails are not protected against unauthorised access, falsification etc.. So please do not send any confidential information (e.g. account number, passwords, etc.) to us by e-mail.
